In the coming weeks we will journey thru some of my favorite cigars and some I am trying for the very first time.
So here we go.
Most hard core cigar smokers would not be caught smoking a flavored cigar. I would be included in that group. However this year we have partnered with Drew Estates Cigars to be the Great Lakes Bay Region's only Diplomat status cigar shop. As a result I have had the opportunity to try some of their unique cigars, with the Deadwood Tobacco's Fat Bottom Betty being one of them.
This cigar is really fun! The band and packaging have a "day of the Dead" feel to them that make them stand out from traditional cigars. The first draw tastes sweetened to make for a delicious start. But don't be fooled, this a a serious cigar made from a Nicaraguan maduro wrapper, exotic aromatic long filler tobacco that amplifies the natural sweetness. The sweetness slowly fades to reveal this rich and flavorful maduro underneath.
The finish on this great cigar is nothing short of satisfying. These are a rare and fun smoke. I hope to have an ample supply for the upcoming summer months as these pair nicely with a cocktail on the deck!
Until next time, continue "Celebrating the good life" and stop in to the shop soon!
